Sausmarez Manor House Tour is wonderful way to get a true insight into this delightful place, where you can spend quality time amid beautiful surroundings, with grounds that combine peaceful spots, with fun areas where families can let their hair down.
The tours are led by Ken Bowyer and his knowledgeable team, who make each and every tour an interesting and amusing experience, which lasts for approximately 40 mins, with a free glass of wine at the end. The house has an intriguing history, with a real lived in feel and lots of stories to tell.
Since 1220 the manor has housed adventurers, diplomats, privateers, admirals, inventors, politicians, prelates and artists. During the tour there are many highlights such as: The Widows Walk, the bullion from the World's Greatest Treasure of Gold and Silver, as well as The Nanny of the 28 children.
The grounds feature subtropical gardens, a pitch and putt, a mini train ride, a sculpture park and a copper tin and silversmiths. The manor features a lakeside cafe, facilities for weddings, functions and meetings, as well as self-catering accommodation. The grounds are open throughout the year, from 10.00am until 5.00 pm and admission is free.
