Sausmarez Manor is a delightful place with something to entertain all ages. This historic manor stands proudly amid 20 acres of grounds, featuring subtropical gardens, a pitch and putt, a mini train ride, a sculpture park and a copper tin and silversmiths.
It is possible to take a tour of the house or even partake in the ghost tour and meet the haunting residents and learn of the house's history. The sculpture park features abstract and classical works by a diverse selection of artists. Soak up the glorious jungle atmosphere, as you wander through the sub tropical gardens, featuring banana trees and birds of paradise.
Children will love the mini train ride that travels a quarter of a mile through the grounds, open daily from 10.00am to 4.00pm, Easter to October, weather permitting. The Happy Hollow pitch and putt is an interesting and challenging course and there is a fun 9 hole putting green. At the copper tin and silversmiths, you can watch a Guernsey Milk Can being made in the ancient way.
After a day full of activities, why not relax in the Lakeside Café and enjoy delicious home made cakes and light lunches. The manor is a versatile venue, which lends itself well to functions, meetings and weddings and a farmers market takes place fortnightly on a Saturday. Be sure to check out the events diary for guided walks, wine tasting, concerts and much more.
