The Anglican cathedral of Liverpool is situated on St James Mount, in the centre of the city. It is the second largest Anglican cathedral in the world, and the seat of the Bishop of Liverpool.
No trip to the city would be complete without a visit to this magnificent 20th century gothic style building. Situated less than a mile from the city centre, it stands as a unique construction of mainly local sandstone and abounds in superlatives. Entry is entirely free but it is hoped that your visit will be both enjoyable and inspirational and that you will feel led to leave a donation towards the running costs of this beautiful building.
It is possible to ask one of the friendly interpreters to give you a detailed tour, entirely free of charge. Small/large parties are catered for (preferably booked in advance of the visit by ringing the main office or the Visitor Manager. The Cathedral is Open every day of the year from 8.00am - 6.00pm (Christmas Day until 2.00pm). Visitors are welcome to join in any of the regular worship services.
