Bedervale is a large single storey Georgian home, situated close to Canberra that houses the National Trust Collection. This privately owned property built in 1836 on a land grant by Captain John Coghill is a property of great historic and architectural significance. The homestead reflects a magnificent standard of preservation including original furniture and household utensils circa 1800-1900.
In an arrangement unique in Australia, the house is privately owned and occupied. However the original collection is the property of the National Trust. Architect John Verge who also designed Camden Park at Menangle and Elizabeth Bay House at Sydney designed Bedervale Homestead.
