Mountfitchet Castle & Norman Village is a unique time capsule that is steeped in history, the castle was built in 1066 and is the only mote & bailey castle in the world that has been reconstructed on its original site.
There are many things to do at this beautiful site such as experiencing the ambience of an ancient bygone lifestyle, whilst mingling with the many animals that roam freely around the Norman Village.
There have been a lot of artefacts that have been discovered over the past few years, and Visitors and staff alike often find items within the Castle site.
