Things to do: Wilsons Promontory and many local beaches are only 20 to 30 minutes drive away, and many other tourist attractions of South Gippsland are within a ½ to 1½ hrs drive from Meeniyan. The Meeniyan golf course, Stony Creek Go-Karts and Cafe and Stony Creek Racecourse are only 5 mins drive away. The Great Southern Rail Trail is just across the road and and with over 600 people riding or walking it a week it is a great inexpensive way to spend the day. The well Known Village of Koonwarra is just down the road. There are also many wineries, restaurants and great pubs in South Gippsland. If the weather is not so good head to Wonthaggi or Leongatha for some shopping or the cinema. Attend one of the many Farmers Markets in the area.
Local Area: Meeniyan is home to numerous boutique stores, cafes, art galleries and nurseries, as well as a popular hotel. The Meeniyan Art show and Garden walk is on every Melbourne cup weekend and the Summer Starters wine weekend is also happens then. The nearby town of Foster Hosts the Promontory Craft and Produce market from November till Easter, and Tastes of Prom Country in mid January.
