The Fort Grey & Shipwreck Museum is located on Guernsey's rocky west coast, amid a small Martello tower, built in 1804 to defend the coastline. The fort is close to the infamous Hanois reefs and the site of many historic shipwrecks.
The museum contains a variety of salvaged artefacts and related illustrations, which help unravel the history of Guernsey shipwrecks. The local wrecks date from HMS Sprightly in 1777, to the Vermontborg in 2003.
Events and resources for children and families are available, as well as education facilities, publications, teaching resources and research facilities for academics. A pre-booking service for groups is on offer and foreign language leaflet and brochures are available.
