No. 26 Cornet Street is the Headquarters of the National Trust of Guernsey and is one of the earliest remaining complete buildings of any age, within the medieval boundaries of St Peter Port.
The property has been loving restored back to its former glory, from the very sorry state it was in. Inside this 18th century house, there is a Victorian shop and parlour, with jars of sweets measured in pounds and ounces.
The parlour features working gaslights and a selection of gifts and confectionary are available in the shop. The property was formally owned by the Le Poidevin family and was up and running until the 1930's. As you enter, it is as if time has been frozen around this bygone era.
