Catalyst is a science centre and museum that is dedicated to chemistry and how the products of chemistry are used in every day life - from medicines to meccano. The key aim is to inform people of all ages about the "chemistry" industry and its role in our lives, past present and future.

Catalyst is a great action-packed family attraction with an excellent educational focus. Schools visit during term time to take advantage of the curriculum based education programme. During school holidays everyone can take part in the special events and activities.

We have something for all age groups, and a friendly welcome is GUARANTEED! Finding out is fun at Catalyst. There are four interactive galleries with over 100 different exhibits to tug, tease and test. Enjoy panoramic views across Cheshire from the roof-top Observatory reached by a scenic glass lift, or visit Scientrific, Birth of an Industry. Also on offer is free car parking, a shop where you'll find a wide range of intriguing scientific toys, souvenirs and gifts, and the Elements Cafe, the perfect place to enjoy a tasty meal, snack, or ice cream, while admiring the riverside views.
