The Jersey Maritime Museum looks at the experience of islanders with the sea, in the present and times past. The museum is divided into three areas looking at the themes of the elements, the boats and the people.

You can discover the basic principles of boast design and propulsion and see restoration work being carried out on the historic boats in the workshop and ask the boat builder some questions.

Learn how the natural phenomena of tides, winds, waves and coastline, affect our relationship with the sea and influence maritime history.

The sea is an integral part of daily life when you live on an island and you can see, hear, touch and even smell, the human story of Jersey's maritime history over the past 800 years.
