Local Area: There are numerous bays and beaches both ocean & portside around Anna Bay. Birubi Point and One Mile Beach are both great surfing beaches with Samurai Beach further to the east a particular favorite for fishing & surfing; the famous Stockton Dunes to the South offer 4 and 6 wheel drives way down the beach and into massive sand dunes... all 24 km of them .. must be experienced to be believed. Try camel & horse riding, sandboarding .. or bushwalk the expanses of Tomaree National Parks .. koalas, birdlife, dolphin & whale watching .. there's always enjoyment in Port Stephens, your Blue Water Paradise.
Getting There: 2.5 hours motorway cruising North from Sydney ... 30 minutes from Newcastle Airport (Virgin/JetStar/Tiger/Qantas) ... 45 minutes by bus from Newcastle Station. Both the New England and the Pacific Highways are adjacent .. as is the Wine Country of the Hunter Valley.
