St Thomas's Cathedral has been integral to the development of Portsmouth as a modern and vibrant city. The understated beauty of the Cathedral inspires the many visitors that come here. Cathedral House is a significant community centre and is in constant use. A wide range of groups use the building but the facilities need to be improved, as they do not meet modern health and safety standards. Full access for disabled people including ramps, a lift to the first floor and toilets will also be included.
Explore Portsmouth Cathedral where new and old embrace in a seamless portrayal of history and where faith and culture stand side by side. One of the most valued aspects of Portsmouth Cathedral is its welcoming and friendly atmosphere whatever your beliefs and interests. There is no entrance charge for visitors but donations are welcome to assist in the maintenance of the building.
There is a 'build-on' teaching model of the Cathedral - helpful for our visually impaired visitors. A 'loop' system for services is available for visitors with hearing impairment. There is an (aided) disabled person's lavatory. Wheelchair users have access to all parts of the Cathedral
