Further Information: The historic Cawood Estate is reminiscent of the stately manors of the English countryside, named after Cawood Castle on the River Ouse in England. The great Tasmanian landscape artist, John Glover, immortalised the estate in his 1835 oil painting, Cawood on the Ouse River - housed in the Tasmanian Art Gallery.
