The Museum of Transport is situated on the outskirts of Manchester's city centre, hosting one of the largest collections of transport in the country.
The museum first opened in 1979, and has accumulated a wonderful collection over the decades of nearly 90 vehicles, representing the history of public transport in Greater Manchester. The museum also contains a selection of books, images, films and videos relating to the local areas transport.
The museum offers a range of facilities including a souvenir shop which hosts a range of mementos including books, scale models of local buses, coffee mugs and badges. The museum also contains a tearoom, serving a range of drinks and snacks.
