Bell's parade was constructed by a couple of brothers in 1855 and used as northern Tasmania's second major trading port of the period. Now days it is a picturesque visiting site with sculptural artworks to leisurely peruse. In 1988 as a Bi-Centenary Project, Bell's Parade was extensively restored and beautified through community efforts.
The 'Henley-On-The-Mersey' carnival is held at Bell's Parade annually on Australia Day, 26 January and has been a major social and sporting event for in excess of 85 years.
