Woodgate's coastal Lowland communities mangrove-line banks of the Gregory and Burrum Rivers, Wallum heath lands and eucalypt and angophora forests, Teatree swamps and small pockets of livistonia palm forests.

With such a diverse landscape the park is home to a vast range of wildlife.
