The Academy

The Academy is a collection of five Georgian townhouses set in the city's literary district of Bloomsbury, 400 meters from Oxford Street. The 49 air-conditioned guestrooms are characterized by Georgian décor with Egyptian cotton bed linen and dark wood furnishings. All rooms come equipped with satellite television, CD players, tea and coffee making facilities, wireless Internet connections, minibars, and complimentary newspapers. Bathrooms include designer toiletries, slippers, bathrobes and hair dryers. Some rooms feature split-level bathrooms with free-standing claw foot baths.

The Academy features two private gardens, The Library Garden and The Conservatory Garden, each off a sitting room of the same name. Guests can relax with a cocktail in the Library Garden during the summer, and admire the Conservatory Garden's exquisite collection of flowers, fish pool and trellis.

Business users have a superb choice of rooms for meeting or event purposes, such as the underground Alchemy Room. A third of London is made up of green space: Hyde Park is two miles from the hotel and provides acres of parkland for walking and horse riding. A boating lake, the Serpentine, is also open throughout the summer season. Guests can also plan a day's sightseeing with the wireless Internet services, while multilingual staff can advise on London's best attractions.
