Mount Warning, the heart of this World Heritage-listed park, is the remnant central plug of an ancient volcano. At 1100 metres it has been eroded down to half its original height.

Fauna Due to the wide variety of Rainforest Communties the park is home to a vast range of Threatened species. These include Pouched Frog, Loveridge's Frog, Rufous Scrub-bird, Barred Cuckoo-shrike, Wompoo Fruit-Dove, Rose-crowned, Fruit-Dove, Superb Fruit-Dove, White-eared Monarch,Albert's Lyrebird, Marbled Frogmouth & Powerful Owl.

Under Bundjalung law, only specifically chosen people are allowed to climb Wollumbin. Out of respect for their law and culture, the Bundjalung ask that you consider choosing not to climb.
