Rocky headlands dotted with hoop pines, open grasslands, woodlands, sheltered bays, and coral rubble and long sandy beaches make these islands some of the most scenic off the Queensland coast. This park consists of Brampton and Carlisle Islands.

Go birdwatching. See orange-footed scrubfowl in the forests and majestic white-bellied sea-eagles and ospreys soaring above the cliffs. Watch nesting flatback and green turtles in summer.

At low tide, you can cross from Brampton to Carlisle Island. Bush camp on Carlisle Island. Book ahead for holiday periods. Picnic tables, a shelter shed, toilets, and a gas barbecue are provided. Take fresh water, a fuel stove for cooking and insect repellent. Open fires and generators are prohibited. Remove all rubbish to the mainland.

*Bush camping is available on both of the park's islands. Camping permits are required and fees apply *Explore Brampton Island with a relaxed stroll to a nearby beach. There are a number of established tracks and walks *The secluded picnic areas at Brampton's Western Bay and Dinghy Bay West, & at Carlisle's campground, all have picnic tables & a toilet *Secluded picnic areas are at Brampton's Western Bay & Dinghy Bay West, and at Carlisle's campground, all have picnic tables and a toilet *Spot Blue tiger butterflies, rainbow skinks, amazing corals & reefs, and feeding turtles in the surrounding marine park waters *Swimming and snorkelling are popular in this area

*Both Brampton & Carlisle Islands are 32km north of Mackay *Access is by private boat or commercial operators *At low tide it is also possible to walk from Brampton Island's Sandy Point to the campground at Carlisle Island. Check tide times and always leave enough time for the return trip to Brampton Island *You may also access Brampton Island via commercial operators departing from Mackay Marina
