An old meandering river has created the idyllic valley setting for this delightful Park. With views of the Plenty River and a backdrop of the wooded Plenty Gorge, this is the perfect spot for a quiet picnic or barbecue.

Flora & FaunaHawkstowe Park is home to reptiles, amphibians, mammals and birds. These include Cunningham Skink, Copperhead Snake, Brown Snake, Tiger Snake, Southern Brown Tree Frog, Common Froglet, Banjo Frog Brush Tailed Possums and Ring Tail Possums Wood ducks, grebes, swans.

There are two distinct vegetation communities within Hawkstowe Park. This community consists of River Red Gum with a smaller shrub middle storey and grassy understorey. The vegetation changes gradually as it gets closer to the river and gorge. The vegetation community here is Box/Ironbark Woodland. Dominant species include Yellow Box, Red Box, Long-leaf Box and Yellow Gum.
