This 200 hectare natural regrowth bushland park comprises 4km of walk trails, a lookout, picnic tables, interpretative flora signage, and a wide variety of native plant species including the sandalwood tree and wildflowers (in season). Pronounced 'gull-gurl-la', the park is named after the Karlkurla Vine, also known as the native silky pear, bush banana and cogla. Kalgoorlie too, is named after the Karlkurla.

The park is managed by the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Urban Landcare Group with the aim to provide recreation, interpretive and educational opportunities in a woodland setting whilst ensuring that natural values of the woodland are preserved and enhanced. Plans are in place to bitumise the walk trails and connect to the cycle paths, and in the long term establish an artifical lake, BBQ area and Interpretive Bushland Centre.

The Entrance is located off Riverina Way, Hannans, 4km from central Kalgoorlie. "The park is legacy of the 1970's Dust Abatement Policy established to revegetate land to reduce the dust storms that bedeviled Kalgoorlie.
