Once extensively logged, Mummel Gulf National Park now protects old-growth forest, including rainforest, on Australia's eastern escarpment. The park also protects threatened species such as the powerful owl, parma wallaby and koala. The park offers many good opportunities for bushwalking and birdwatching.
Things to do & see include picnicking, car-based camping, bushwalking and bird watching. Facilities include public toilets, picnic tables and BBQs.
You can visit the park at any time of year, though it can be very cold during winter. During summer, temperatures are often milder than in nearby coastal areas. Many species of shrubs flower during spring and summer.
