Surrounding the inlets of the Gairdner, Fitzgerald & Hamersley Rivers on the South Coast of WA, between Bremer Bay and Hopetoun, lies one of the world's most diverse botanical regions.
The park covers more than 330,000 hectares of unspoiled wilderness and is an important reserve for rare and endangered species of flora and fauna.
More than 1,800 beautiful and bizarre species of flowering plants, as well as lichens, mosses and fungi have all been recorded - including 62 species found nowhere else. Spring and autumn are the best seasons to visit this park.
Fitzgerald River National Park, through which the rugged Barren Range stretches from east to west, features diverse landscapes, protected beaches, rugged sea cliffs, steep ranges and extensive plains.
