outh Head in Sydney Harbour National Park is well known for its sandstone cliffs and rugged scenery. You can explore the headland's historic forts and lighthouse on a Discovery tour, or go on a walk around the lookouts. Fauna The park also provides habitat for ringtail possums, echidnas, water rats, brown antechinuses, and bats. Most of these animals are largely nocturnal, so your best chance of seeing them is on a Discovery spotlighting tour. Seabirds nest on the cliff ledges around South Head - including the great cormorant, white-breasted sea eagle, nankeen kestrel, masked lapwing and rock warbler. There's also an endangered colony of little penguins in the harbour, near Manly.
