The Cascade National Park of subtropical and warm temperate rainforest, covers an area of approximately 3620 hectares, surrounding the village of Cascade.

The rainforest features booyong, crabapple and coachwood trees and is an important habitat for many vulnerable and protected rainforest amphibians, such as the stuttering frog, giant barred frog, and the pouched frog.
