This forest is just one kilometre from the main townsite and has probably the oldest and biggest trees (in a forest situation) in the whole of Australia. Thought to be the third tallest trees in the world, huge Karri's stretch seventy-five and a half metres to the sky, with verdant green understoreys covering the forest floor.
It is a very beautiful area in the wildflower season (October to December).
An Information Bay gives details of the park and many trees and plants are labelled. Walk trails can be obtained on brochure from the Tourist Centre.
The Northcliffe Forest Park was developed with the use of CEP Funds and was completed in May 1985.
