Situated approx 65km north-east from Wodonga in the north-eastern park of Victoria, the Mount Lawson State Park encompasses an area of 13150ha and includes Bungil Reference Area.
Mount Lawson State Park has a rich cultural heritage. Local aboriginal tribes used this area extensively and there are a number of signs of their existence throughout the Park.
This interesting and diverse Park was declared in 1987 to provide opportunities for recreation and education in a natural environment, preserve natural ecosystems and protect sites of geological and historical importance.
At the southern end of the Park, the Historic Trestle Bridge from the old Cudgewa Rail Line can be accessed, showing a good example of hardship and engineering from days gone by.
