The Rock is an impressive landmark, towering 250 metres over the surrounding countryside. Know as Kengal to the local Wiradjuri people, it is thought to have been a place where initiation ceremonies had been carried out.

Energetic bushwalkers will enjoy the climb to the top of the 3 km Yerong Nature Trail where, on a clear day, you can see Mount Kosciuszko and the Victorian Alps. The walk to the top passes through a variety of vegetation communities, with interpretive signs guiding you through the changes and pointing out highlights as you make the assent.

There are no camping facilities but accommodation is available at The Rock, other neighbouring villages or in Wagga Wagga.
