Cooloola is a place of beautiful contrasts. Located just half an hour's drive north of Noosa National Park, the park covers 56 000ha. Cooloola National Park stretches from peaceful everglades across coastal wildflower plains to the beach, where dramatic coloured sand cliffs tower over rolling surf.

Part of 140 000ha Great Sandy National Park, Cooloola conserves the largest tract of natural land on Queensland's southern coast. Cooloola offers peace amid natural beauty.

Cooloola is a refuge for plants and animals whose habitats have dwindled with expanding coastal development. Its landscape on sand embraces long beaches, high dunes, mangroves, open heath, woodlands, rainforests and lakes. At its heart are the Noosa River's pure waters, their upper catchment protected in the park.
