Located on the Darling Range, 25 kilometres from Perth or only two kilometres from Kalamunda is the Kalamunda National Park. It is at its best in Winter and Spring.
The Park offers typical Darling Range forest country traversed by Peisse Brook. Pleasant forest scenery studded with granite boulder outcrops timbered with Marri, Wandoo and Jarrah with diverse understorey. The Grey Kangaroo, Echidna and Short-nosed Bandicoot provide traces of existence but are rarely seen. A good variety of birds inhabit the park.
Good energetic walk trails exist in the Park including the initial bush section of the Bibbulmun Track.
