Brindabella is a mountainous park of stringybark, scribbly gum, box and peppermint forest, as well as subalpine snow gum and mountain gum forest. The park protects several threatened species including the powerful owl and corroboree frog.

Althought the park is remote there is plenty to do there. Bushwalking, orienteering, birdwatching or exploring the excellent system of 4WD trails are all popular activities. A system of trails for registered and responsible 4WD and motorcycle users are well maintained.

From the summit of Mount Coree there are excellent views of the surrounding area and the Bag Range Hut lookout is an interesting historical landmark.
