The Scabby Range Nature Reserve is 3400ha within the southwest of Namadgi National Park. Much of the reserve, dedicated in 1982, lies above 1600m. Mt Scabby (1798m) is the highest peak.

The Bimberi Nature Reserve sits on an elevated block of the Brindabella Range. The 7100ha reserve lies between Namadgi and Kosciuszko national parks and ranges in height from about 750m to 1857m.

FaunaThe reserves are home to a range of native animals, including grey kangaroos, red-necked wallabies, ringtail possums, southern bush rats, broad-toothed rats and at least 35 bird species.
