Located in the Brisbane River headwaters, the Palms National Park is a small park near Cooyar. The park is noted for its small remnant of mixed palm vine forest and subtropical rain forest. Palms flourish along a spring-fed gully and a pleasant picnic spot is set away from the crowds.

Walk through the forest and spot Grey-headed flying-foxes camping over the creek in summer and black-breasted button-quails in winter and spring.
