This new park surrounds or adjoins a number of largely natural coastal lakes, including Tabourie, Burill, Termeil and Meroo lakes. The area features a wide variety of forest types, including spotted gum.

Visitors can enjoy bushwalking, fishing, swimming and canoeing in the park. Backpack camping is permitted at Meroo Head in the southern section of the park, though no facilities are provided here.
