Located on the Woronora Plateau west of the Illawarra Escarpment, the recreation area and nature reserve support a complex and diverse range of vegetation communities and threatened species.

Their upland swamps, shale forests and western gully forests (which are prime koala habitat) are not to be missed. A beautiful and distinctive network of creeks, including the ecologically important O'Hares Creek catchment, make Dharawal a special place to visit.

Swim or canoe in the peaceful creeks and rock pools, enjoy the superb waterfalls, or ride your mountain bike on signposted trails in the park. Birdwatchers will love the prolific bird life.
