Churchill Island Marine National Park, encompassing 670Ha on the eastern shore of Phillip Island, is an important roosting and feeding habitat for an local birdlife - such as Royal Spoonbills & Pied Oyster Catchers.
The vast mudflats of Western Port are an important breeding and feeding ground for fish and birds, especially Whimbrels and Bartailed Godwits.
Habitat types include seagrass beds, mangroves, sheltered mudflats, sandy beaches, subtidal soft sediments and rocky intertidal shores.
