The Queensland Sport and Athletic Centre (QSAC), originally known as Queen Elizabeth II Stadium and more recently ANZ Stadium, was built for the 1982 Brisbane Commonwealth Games and is the former home of the Brisbane Broncos NRL Club.

The Stadium consists of 2 large grandstands on either side of the playing field and several stands forming a semi circle at both ends, with a total capacity of just under 50,000. The Queensland Sport and Athletic Centre has two Athletics areas on site, the Main Stadium as well as the State Athletics Facility, as well as an area for Beach Volleyball.

The Queensland Sport and Athletic Centre has been home to many State of Origan and National Rugby Leauge matches, 1982 Commonwealth Games, 2001 Goodwill Games, tennis, baseball and a heap more.

Details

History
The facility opened in 1975 and was officially named Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Sports Centre by the Queen in 1977. It was constructed in close proximity to both the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital and Griffith University campus, which provided athlete accommodation. The original roofed stadium was intended to be the only permanent seating facility. The remainder of the stadium seating was built as "temporary" seating and was intended to be removed afer the Commonwealth Games had finished. Public opinion resulted in the unroofed temporary seating being retained as permanent.
