Murray-Kulkyne Regional Park is notable for it's variety of riverine landforms on the floodplains of the Murray River, and its significant vegetation communities. Together with the other Mallee parks, it helps protect the largest areas of semi-arid wilderness in south-east Australia and the least disturbed mallee ecosystems Australia-wide.
Flora & Fauna - There are also a number of protected fauna species found in the area including the Carpet Python, Spotted Bowerbird, Barking Marsh Frog, Tessellated Gecko, Curl Snake, Apostlebird and the Square-tailed Kite.
Murray-Kulkyne Regional Park also has important conservation values. A number of plant species found in the Park are rare or threatened. These include the Dwarf Swainson-pea, Red Bird's-foot Trefoil, Hooked Needlewood, Buloke, Desert Sneezeweed, Slender Club-sedge and Cattle-bush.
