Ocean Grove Nature Reserve contains the only significant example of woodland on the Bellarine Peninsula as it was prior to European settlement.
Flora & Fauna130 species of bird including Eastern Rosella and Red-browed Finch, Mammals like the Red-necked Wallaby, Swamp Wallaby, echidna, possums and bats are also seen.Copperhead snakes are occasionally seen while certain species of lizards can be observed during the warmer months. These include blue-tongue lizards and tree dragons. a large variety of insects such as Common Brown Butterfly, Blue Ant and Nitrides Ants
178 plant species such as The Grass Tree, Manna Gum, Yellow Gum, Drooping Sheoak, Black Sheoak Wattle, rare Kangaroo Grass and 22 species of orchid are just some found in the park.
