The Rosebud Foreshore Reserve (55 hectares) is located along an eight kilometre stretch of the Port Phillip coastline between Anthony's Nose at McCrae and Chinaman's Creek in West Rosebud. The reserve is a valuable natural and community asset that has a long history of recreational use by the local community, day visitors and campers.
The Reserve contains important historical features including the 34 metre high McCrae Lighthouse built in 1883 and the site of the "Rosebud" shipwreck of 1851. Both sites are listed on the Victorian Heritage Register.
