Accessible only by seaplane this is a place where the magnificence of an unspoilt island and its fringing reefs are a mere backdrop to an experience in exquisite cuisine, wine and privacy like no other.

    There are a hundred ways to lose yourself at Orpheus. snorkel some of the finest reef areas, relax on your own private beach complete with a seafood gourmet picnic hamper, take part in one of the many activities on offer or simply relax by the pool…it's your choice.

    Getting There
    Located 80km North of Townsville and 120km South of Cairns, Orpheus is a true Great Barrier Reef Island. Accessible from both ports, enjoy a scenic 30 minute seaplane transfer over the spectacular Great Barrier Reef, departing from the Townsville Airport. Land in true "Fantasy Island" style at the shores of the Resort. Alternatively, we offer transfers from Cairns, using QANTAS to connect with the seaplane service from Townsville. Charters are also available from most Northern Queensland destinations upon request.
    Further Information
    All meals are included, consisting of an a la carte breakfast, three course alfresco lunch or gourmet seafood picnic hamper and a seven course degustation menu each evening. Dietary requirements are taken prior to arrival and all meals are tailor made to ensure that nothing is served that can't be eaten or isn't liked.
    Things to do
    Included in all packages are the use of motorised dinghies, paddle skis, catamarans, canoes, snorkelling equipment, local snorkel trips, light fishing gear, pools, gymnasium, recreation room, tennis court, bushwalking and selected interpretive activities including garden walks and lookout high teas. Additional activities on offer include scuba diving, sunset cruises and outer reef fishing charters.
