The same family has run Ewenny Pottery for over seven generations, living history that has continued the tradition of making wonderful hand thrown glazed earthenware pottery. You can watch the potters practicing their craft in the workshop and maybe buy some of their wares in the well-stocked shop.
Every piece of pottery is handmade, thrown by wheel and left to dry for at least four days, then its is cleaned and the famous Ewenny pottery signature is handwritten by Jane on the bottom of the pot. Then they are placed into the kiln, which takes about two days from firing up to cooling. When that has been done it is then time to glaze the pottery with a thin layer of glass which when on the pot produces a wonderful colour.
