Opened in 2004, at its current location next to Hurstville City Council, it is the only regional museum in the St George district. The Museum is a popular destination for thousands of local and interstate visitors each year. The Museum is a hub of community activity, presenting programs, talks, special events and exhibitions, making the Museum the epicentre of cultural activity in St George.

The St George Regional Museum is dedicated to preserving the unique history of the St George region as well as working with the local community to develop interesting art and history exhibitions. The particular emphasis is on the domestic and working lives of St George locals in the 19th and 20th centuries. Our collection includes examples of household objects people used in the past, from large ovens and refrigerators, to fly catching contraptions and teacups! However, contemporary cultural interests are also collected and explored.
