The National Wool Museum is located in the historic former Cambrian Mills; wool was historically the most important and widespread of Wales's industries. The pleasant village of Dre-fach Felindre in the stunning Teifi valley was once the centre of a thriving woollen industry.
Shawls, shirts, blankets, bedcovers, woollen stockings and socks were all made here, and sold in the surrounding countryside and the rest of the world. You will love to visit the wonderfully restored listed mill buildings and historic machinery and see brand new features such as the glass-roofed courtyard.
Walk along the raised walkway that gives you a magnificent view of textiles in production. Children will enjoy following the trail 'A Woolly Tale', on which they can create their own guide to making and using woollen cloth and even try there hand at spinning and sewing along the way.
