Situated in the heart of Notting Hill, Broadbent is a contemporary art gallery on two floors that specialises in non-representational, abstract work and show mid-career artists from Britain, Europe and America in the context of modern masters such as Sam Francis and Alan Davie.
Few galleries offer such a vibrant range of abstract and non-figurative work. The recent exhibitions of Barnett Newman at Tate Modern and Joan Mitchell at the Whitney Museum, New York are part of a wider, re-emerging debate about abstraction in contemporary art. Broadbent is making an important contribution to that debate.
