NOMAD offers two hour family kayak trips to through the estuary backwaters of Walton-on-the-Naze, Essex. Heading out of the marina west towards Horsey Island to view the abundant bird life and then on down the Twizzle to view the beautiful yachts moored there. A guided tour with a flexible iteniary for families of any size.

This trip is designed for complete novice paddlers with absolutely no previous experience, in particular, families with children from the age of ten years.

Easy to use, stable sit-on-top kayaks, paddles and buoyancy aids are provided. The package also includes secure parking, hot showers and a restaurant & bar on site. Just book, turn up and go! Priced at £29.48 per person including all equipment & guides.

We have a number of other 1 - 3 day excursions along the UK coast and various estuaries as well as "Introduction to Sea Kayaking" and advanced sea kayaking tours & expeditions - please ask for details.

Details

Facilities: The Scupper Pro sit-on-top kayaks are perfect for beginner paddlers. This excursion is appropriate to novice paddlers i.e. those who have paddled some form of boat in their past or never paddled before. An experienced guide who knows the area and the wildlife very well will lead you. Comprehensive insurance is included and prices are quoted per person. We can arrange bespoke trips and functions such as birthday parties, corporate events, leisure groups, sports clubs, scout excursions & barbeques on site. Trips leave weekdays and every weekend Saturday and Sunday - please telephone for dates and times or visit our website.
Facilities: Prices include a sit-on-top kayak with your buoyancy aid and paddle. The kayaks have two dry hatches for food, clothes and other dry gear. Secure parking for the day included in the price per head. Hot showers (included) and access to a lovely restaurant for good quality sit down hot food. There is a bar with a beer garden with stunning views of the marina and we offer barbeque facilities on site too - please enquire.

Not being a particularly strong swimmer I was a bit nervous at first but the guide soon put my fears to rest. My kayak was so stable in the water and I soon got the hang of the paddling.
