A Georgian pub located in the Earl's Court area of London, Duke of Clarence historically is the oldest licensed building on the Old Brompton Road and since changing hands three years ago has returned to its former glory, only better.
The manager of this pub aka 'The Minister of Fun' for the pub group, has a lot to answer for the buzz and vibe found in the Clarence. He will bring shame on those who do not know the date of Elvis' birthday! Quiz night on a Monday has become an institution, brilliantly compered by an ex-Neighbours star, Andrew Burns.
The menu is refreshingly uncomplicated. A parma ham, buffalo mozzarella and artichoke salad (£5.95) can be followed by a Potato Gnocchi, sauteed wild mushrooms with garlic butter and parmesan (£7.95) or a Crisp salmon and prawn fishcake with lemon butter and spinach (£9.95).
