We are situated just 5 minutes away from the M4 motorway, close to the Severn Bridge. You will find First Hurdle, a charming and elegant retreat ideally placed in the historic town centre of Chepstow.

The First Hurdle Guest House is the only guesthouse situated in the centre of this famous medieval walled town of Chepstow. This makes us perfectly placed for visiting the famous Chepstow Castle, the many bars, restaurants, and shops.

First Hurdle Guest House is also ideally located to reach into the Wye Valley and visit many of the local tourist attractions like Offa's Dyke and Tintern Abbey.

Local Area: The museum at Chepstow takes you on a tour through Chepstow's history, following its development over the past 1000 years and its importance as a bustling and productive port in previous years. Chepstow Castle, dating from the 11th century is a spectacular site, situated on the imposing cliffs above the River Wye. Tintern Abbey is a 12th century abbey that welcomes thousands of visitors every year to marvel at its magnificent structure, still standing after the reformation saw it partially destroyed. The Gift shop and information centre help you to learn more about this beautiful abbey, situated in the heart of the Wye Valley region.
Info for Disabled: We also have two single bedrooms accessible from the ground floor and although there are two steps down to the breakfast room we do provide room service.
