Having 60 beds, mostly in dorms and having a limited availability for long term stays, Ocean Hostel has been a great base for hundreds of people visiting our capital city. Located in historic Leith, Ocean is worlds apart from the city centre hostels and has such a relaxed and friendly atmosphere that we have people returning each time they pass through Edinburgh.

Just like a very big house we have 4x 14 bed dorms plus 2x 6 bed dorms and a smaller 4 bed room. But things are changing!!! Plans are afoot to produce smaller rooms too in the summer of 2007. There is a large lounge with loads of sofas and a pretty big kitchen with cooking/laundry/refridgerators and dining facilities.

All we are here for is to check you in, travel advice local knowledge and help with any questions you may have about, well.....anything! We have seperate sex bathrooms but sometimes when we have large single sex groups it is possible to make them unisex without anyone feeling put out due to our cubicle system. We have catered for groups of up to 50 before and we can get deals with local bars and restaurants if you require us to book somewhere for you! It's simple, friendly and different.....Ocean Hostel.

Please Note: Due to the open nature of the Hostel, we do not recommend any children under 18 years of age to stay at Ocean. Anyone under 16 will not be allowed. Ocean hostel has been a non-smoking facility since 2005! All deposits taken are non-refundable. Please pay all balances in cash on arrival as we do not hace card facilities.
Getting There: From the airport = Take the No 35 bus from outside the terminal and stay on till Leith Police Station (45 mins). We are 100 metres further down the street on the right. From the train/bus station: Taxi approx £6, Bus from Princes Street Shopping side take a number 16 to Leith police station or a 22 to "the shore" we are 150 metres from the shore.
