Barney Creek Vineyard Cottages offer a secluded accommodation escape near Rathdowney in the Scenic Rim - a little piece of paradise in the Border Ranges. Choose from self-catering or B&B packages.

Guests have a choice of 3 stylish cottages - The Garden Cottage, Lakeside Bungalow and Hill Station - each with a full kitchen and BBQ area. Surrounded by blissful gardens, each cottage is delightfully different.

The Garden Cottage is a large cottage with three bedrooms: the first has a queen-size bed with great views to Mt Maroon from the window seat. The second is also a queen, and the third has two single beds.

The Lakeside Bungalow, perched on the edge of the lake. Creature comforts include CD player, Queen size bed with views to Mt Barney across the lake, bathrobes, and sunken spa with mountain views.

The Hill Station is a 100 year old renovated railway station decorated in the style of the Orient Express and has 360 degree panoramic views of the mountains.

Further Information: The vineyard was planted in January 2004 with over 1000 grafted vines on a small ridge beside the Bungalow. The vine types planted are 50% Petit Verdot, 30% Mourvedre, 10% Shiraz and 10% Grenache. Wines from these vines are now available - two Ros which are great summer drinking, a Petit Verdot Merlot blend, a straight Petit verdot, Verdelho and a Shiraz Mouvedre dry red.
Location: Barney Creek Cottages are located in a small private valley between Mt Maroon and Mt Barney (in the Border Ranges) - 18 kilometres from Rathdowney and an hour and a half from Brisbane CBD. The property lies at the confluence of the Logan River and Mt Barney Creek. From Ipswich take the road to Boonah and then towards Rathdowney turning into Upper Logan Rd. From Brisbane, Beenleigh or the Gold Coast take your most direct route to Beaudesert, then head south into the beautiful Border Ranges along the Mt Lindesay Hwy, and turn right into Barney View Rd, 10 minutes south of Rathdowney.
Further Information: Just 1.5 hours from Brisbane and the Gold Coast, or 1 hour from Ipswich, Barneys Creek Vineyard Cottages is the perfect location for a short break.

The lakeside bungalow at Barney Creek Vineyard cottages was fantastic- it had gorgeous views of the mountains from every room, a romantic double spa to relax in, plenty of privacy, not to mention friendly hosts and fantastic food! We only spent 1 night there but could have easily stayed three, there's plenty of exploring to be done on the property and good bushwalks close by ... Read More
